Early Childhood Center Named for The Manzer Family
A Spencer, Iowa, family’s gift to Sacred Heart Catholic School and Parish helped the parish to create a new early childhood center. Sacred Heart is blessed to receive this generous donation from the Manzer family.

Why Sacred Heart?

The Sacred Heart Early Childhood Program is an early learning program, under the umbrella of the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS). A certified, trained individual will serve as the director of the program with oversight from school administration. All childcare personnel will have the training necessary to meet or exceed DHS requirements, with the expectation to be Christian role models for the children.

Class sizes are limited by state guidelines to 16 three-year-old children and 12 two-year-old children per classroom. The Center will have two classrooms for each age group and can accommodate a total of 56 children.

The Early Childhood Center will operate year round, including dates when school is not in session for staff in-service or inclement weather. The Center will be closed for New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4
th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Center will be open during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks, however, availability times for Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve will be determined annually.
